Hive Share Memberships
Community Supported Agriculture
Our Hive Share program was developed as an answer to our community’s desire to learn more about our honey bees and support our small business. The rewards and joy that come with the stewardship of our honey bees has always been compounded when shared!
In addition to their own yield of honey, the Hive Share program will:
+ Get regular and detailed updates about their hive and insights into a Beekeepers role
+ Provide an intimate look into how an growing artisanal beekeeping company operates
+ Include information about other pollinators, and how to support them
+ Teach members how honey is made, harvested, and extracted
How does it work?
Each Hive Share member is assigned to a hive in our Homebase Apiary in Russell, ON.
Throughout the season, Members will receive regular updates after hive inspections with personalized insights on how their hive is doing.
As honey is harvested, Members receive their “share”. All of our honey is ethically harvested in small batches. We offer 5%, 10%, 15%, and 20% shares.

How Much Honey Do I Get?
All of our honey is ethically harvested in small batches. This is especially important in preparation for winter. Rest assured that your participation in this program isn’t “stealing” from bees.
Our honey crop varies year to year as it is influenced by the uniqueness of each season. We predict that each hive can produce approximately 50kg (just over 110lbs) of honey under average conditions.
Based on these harvest estimates, yields are estimated as followed:
5% Share
10% Share
15% Share
20% Share
How much does it cost for the season?
For a 5% Share: $75
For a 10% Share: $150
For a 15% Share: $225
For a 20% Share: $300
For a 25% Share: $375
