“As a purpose-driven person, this work brings me a tremendous sense of fulfillment.
Our world would be immeasurably different without honey bees and other pollinators. I see
myself as the human member of the colony who gets to speak on their behalf.”

“If you had told me 10 years ago that I would become a professional Beekeeper, I wouldn’t have believed you. My path here was certainly not linear, but I knew very quickly when I began working in the beekeeping industry in 2018 that I had arrived somewhere that deeply resonated with me.

Today, even after thousands of hive inspections, I regularly see new things and am always learning from the bees! As a purpose-driven person, the variety of physical, mental, and intellectual challenges associated with this work brings me a tremendous sense of fulfillment. Our world would be immeasurably different without honey bees and other pollinators. I see myself as the Human member of the colony who gets to speak on their behalf.

Beekeeping is very much an art and a science. It’s not quite like any other trade. Knowledge alone doesn’t guarantee that you’ll be good at it - nor does experience! There is an intuitive component, an awareness, that develops as your learn to speak the language of bees and understand the influence of natures many variables.

To me, a great beekeeper is someone connected and adaptable; tough enough to endure hard work and adrenaline, but calm enough to do it with grace under pressure - I aim to live up to that!

Pursuing the dream of building my own company has been both a privilege and adventure. It is so rewarding to be trusted as a guide through the amazing world of honey bees and pollinators. I wholeheartedly feel like I’m just getting started.”

Member of The Ontario Beekeepers Association, The Toronto Urban Beekeepers Association, and The Eastern Ontario Beekeepers Association.
